MIFARE, DESFire, NFC and Bluetooth: which Ojmar locks read what

One of the first questions in any RFID or smart locker project is whether the locks will work with the cards, wristbands or phones people already use. Here is what each Ojmar lock in our range accepts, based on Ojmar's product information.

The terms

MIFARE is a family of contactless card technologies used widely in building access and membership cards. MIFARE Classic, Ultralight and DESFire are common types, with DESFire offering stronger security.

NFC is the contactless standard used by phones and many cards and wristbands.

Bluetooth lets a phone open a lock through an app, without touching the lock.

HID and Apple Wallet are credential types used in many modern office access systems.

By lock

OTS 10 (Basic): MIFARE, compatible with most access control systems.

OTS 20 (Advance): MIFARE Classic, Ultralight, DESFire and NFC.

OTS 20 Batteryless: MIFARE and NFC.

OTS 40 (Pulse): RFID, NFC and Bluetooth, with HID and Apple Wallet credentials.

Matching your building

The exact card technology in your building matters. Before specifying, we can confirm the card type with your access control provider or test a sample card, so the lockers work with the credentials on day one.
