From keys to codes: retrofitting camlocks on existing furniture and lockers

Lost keys, spare key boxes and lockouts take up a surprising amount of a facility team's time. Most keyed camlocks can be replaced with a keyless Ojmar lock on the same doors, so the furniture and lockers stay where they are.

Two keyless options

OMS 8002: a mechanical 4-digit combination camlock. Users set their own code, with 10,000 combinations, a code refind function and master key opening. No batteries. Suits doors from 1 to 21.5 mm.

OGS 10: an electronic keypad camlock with a 4 to 6 digit PIN, master code and mechanical emergency key, running up to 6 years on 2 × CR2032 batteries. Suits locker doors from 6 to 20 mm and furniture from 16 to 20 mm.

Which one?

Choose the OMS 8002 when users keep the same locker or pedestal for a long time and the facility wants no batteries. Choose the OGS 10 when users change more often, when staff need a master code, or when a keypad feels more natural to the people using it.

What we need to quote

  1. A photo of one of the current locks, front and back if possible
  2. The number of locks
  3. Door material and thickness
  4. Whether the lock turns vertically or horizontally

Doing it in stages

A retrofit can start with one floor, one staff room or one bank of lockers. Because both locks fit existing doors, each stage is simply a lock change.
